Dominic Sandbrook
British historian, author, and broadcaster. Co-host of The Rest Is History podcast alongside Tom Holland, and since February 2026 of The Book Club alongside Tabitha Syrett. His books include a multi-volume cultural and political history of postwar Britain (Never Had It So Good, White Heat, State of Emergency, Seasons in the Sun) and The Great British Dream Factory.
Sandbrook’s specialism is modern British history and politics, with a particular interest in popular culture, economics, and the texture of ordinary life. On The Rest Is History he typically brings the domestic political and economic context to Holland’s classical and imperial angles.
