Scott Nolan

Scott Nolan was SpaceX’s 35th employee, doing structural and thermal work on the engine systems under Tom Mueller and later moving to the Dragon capsule under NASA’s Commercial Orbital Transportation Services programme. In 2011 he joined Founders Fund, where he spent over a decade as a partner backing hardware and physical-world companies — including SpaceX, Crusoe Energy, and Radiant — under the firm’s contrarian thesis of funding important companies no one else would. In 2023 he founded General Matter to rebuild US uranium enrichment, the bottleneck stopping advanced nuclear reactors and the existing grid from getting fuel once supplied by Russia.
