Jeff Kaplan is a video game designer. He joined Blizzard Entertainment in 2002 as a quest designer on World of Warcraft after being recruited via EverQuest — Blizzard designer Rob Pardo had spent months guilded alongside him under a pseudonym before revealing himself at a San Diego job fair. Kaplan rose to become game director of World of Warcraft and subsequently of Overwatch, which he co-created from the wreckage of the cancelled MMO Titan. He left Blizzard in April 2021. He then co-founded Kintsugiyama with programmer Tim Ford; the studio of 34 is building The Legend of California, an open-world Gold Rush multiplayer game.
