Ed Barnhart

Archaeologist specialising in ancient civilisations of South America, Mesoamerica, and North America. Founder of the Maya Exploration Centre. Produces courses for The Great Courses on Olmec, Maya, Aztec, and Inca civilisations. Known for his thesis that Andean cultures share a monotheistic tradition centred on a single “fanged deity” running from the Chavin culture (~1800 BCE) through to the Inca.
