Daniel Goleman

Daniel Goleman is a psychologist and former science journalist whose 1995 book Emotional Intelligence popularised the idea that self-awareness, self-management, empathy, and relationship skill matter as much as cognitive ability for success and leadership. He spent twelve years covering behavioural and brain science for The New York Times before that book’s publication, and has since written on leadership (Primal Leadership), attention (Focus), and — with neuroscientist Richard Davidson — the science of meditation (Altered Traits).
