Demetri Kofinas
Host of Hidden Forces, a long-form interview show that describes its remit as helping investors, entrepreneurs and everyday citizens challenge consensus narratives and think critically about the systems of power shaping the world. Kofinas interviews across markets, technology, political economy and ideas, and reads his guests’ books closely enough to quote them back — his questions tend to arrive as propositions the guest is invited to accept, refine or reject rather than as open prompts.
He has lived in New York on and off since 2000, went to high school on Long Island, and came into the city as a student for a Westinghouse project at City College — a vantage he uses in conversation, tracking the city through four or five distinct phases as a way of thinking about how places change and who gets to change them.
